More than 400 graduates came to the University of Applied Sciences for graduation. For the first time ever, the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol organized a livestream for friends and family so they could observe the ceremony from home.

The graduation ceremony is a highlight in the lives of the students. However, giving the students their certificates is also an annual highlight for the teaching staff at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol. This year graduation took place as a hybrid event on two weekends on a total of four days because of the situation. A total of more than 800 guests and 400 graduates were present. The Director of Studies and the rector team personally gave the graduates their certificates at the ceremony. In addition to having two guests at the ceremony, entire families and groups of friends were allowed to watch the presentation of the certificates from home by livestream.

Meeting again after a long online phase

On graduation day, the stress of studying was quickly forgotten as relief and happiness outweighed any previous struggles. It is quite likely that the special highlight this year was being able to personally meet again after a long phase of online teaching. Rector and University of Applied Sciences Professor Dr. Mario Döller and Vice Rector and University of Applied Sciences Professor Dr. Michael Kohlegger gave speeches at 14 graduation ceremonies and gave the graduates their certificates. “Every year I look forward to graduation and the happy, contented faces of the graduates. It is a beautiful and touching moment to confirm our students’ success as we send them on their way,” as Rector and University of Applied Sciences Professor Dr. Mario Döller summarized the event. “I am glad that we can finally see each other face-to-face again and that I can personally congratulate you on the completion of your studies,” said Vice Rector and University of Applied Sciences Professor Dr. Michael Kohlegger as he gladly gave the graduates his congratulations.

Sustainable graduation with safety precautions

Graduation was held this year as a Green Event Tirol, and because of the situation it took place with measures and rules that ensured the health of all guests and employees involved. “To do this, we created a comprehensive Covid safety concept, reduced individual vacations, and seamlessly verified the 3G status of all participants and guests. Seating charts were also made, and FFP2 masks were worn while standing or walking. The concept was able to be successfully implemented thanks to our motivated team and our commendable guests. I am very glad that our efforts were rewarded, and that there were no cases during the ceremonies on campus. However, the best part about it is that we were able to allow the graduates and their families to have an in-person ceremony again,” reported the Event Manager at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, Mag. Thomas Petzold.
