Guidelines for Applicants

Online Application Tool for the Academic Year 2013/14

ADMISSIONS PROCESS

The entire admissions process is subdivided into 3 phases:

1. Online application

You can already apply online for the academic year 2013/14 at the FH Kufstein Tirol. Even if you do not have your school-leaving certificate yet, you may still apply by entering your personal data and the degree program(s) you wish to apply to. One step in the online application process is selecting the desired entrance exam & interview date; we recommend you apply early to ensure you get your preference.

In order to complete the online application, we will require from you the documents listed below. Please be sure to have these documents prepared and on hand before proceeding with the application process.

  • Your curriculum vitae (CV) in tabular layout
  • Copies of your certificates, transcripts, diplomas, etc. or, if applicable, a copy of your latest school report card
  • If available, documents confirming your practical experiences, for example, employment or internship certificates and/or letters of reference from employers
  • Your photo

When the application process is completed, you will receive an e-mail summarizing the information you provided.

Please note that the online application is designed for a one-time use by a single applicant. If you want to apply to more than one degree program, it will be possible to do so in the same step of the process. Once the online application process has been concluded, changes can only be made by contacting the Registration Hotline (Andrea Montibeller: anmeldungfh-kufstein.ac.at or +43 5372 71819-400).

2. The written entrance examination

If the number of candidates applying to a degree program is higher than the maximum number of seats available in that degree program, then it will be necessary for the candidates to sit for an entrance exam.

The written entrance examination

The aim of the general entrance examination is to evaluate the potential of each candidate in regard to his or her studies at the Fachhochschule Kufstein Tirol. The exam is a computerized intelligence test, and candidates have 60 minutes to complete it. Candidates need no prior knowledge in their chosen field of study in order to take the exam. Please be aware that aids such as calculators, dictionaries, etc. are not permitted during the exam. Furthermore, candidates are required to bring a valid photo identification document, e.g. their passport, to the test session.

For candidates applying for Master´s degree programs: The written entrance examination can be completed in English or German. Request to change the language of the exam should be send by e-mail to: anmeldungfh-kufstein.ac.at

For candidates applying to multiple degree programs: the entrance exam is valid for all degree programs (BA and MA) at the FH Kufstein and therefore must only be taken once.

3. The personal interview

A final prerequisite for admission is taking part successfully in a personal interview. An interviewer team representing the chosen degree program will aim to get an impression of the candidate with regard to his/her motivation and aptitude to study. During the course of the discussion, the individual candidate will have the opportunity to present him-/herself, elaborate on his/her motives for wanting to study, talk about his/her plans for the future, and so on.

For candidates applying to multiple degree programs: If the dates for the entrance exam & interview for your chosen degree programs happen to fall on the same day, it will be possible to schedule those interviews on the same day – simply select the same date as you complete the online application.

Repeat participation in the application process at the FH Kufstein

In principle, it is possible for a candidate to repeat his/her participation in the application process at the FH Kufstein in following years. However, please note that the results of the entrance exam and interview are only valid for the respective academic year. In other words, if a candidate decides to apply again in a following year, the entire application process must be repeated.
