Business Informatics FT
Basic IT expertise, a sound business studies education and a strong practical orientation are the cornerstones of this degree program. Thanks to the balanced combination of subjects from the fields of management, business and information technology, graduates are qualified to operate as industry-independent agents between technical departments and professional users.
Comprehensive Process Thinking
Thinking in processes is the central key to understanding operational sequences. Market, accounting, management and value-added processes as well as the appropriate implementation of IT projects are therefore at the forefront of the education. Students are provided with technical tools, including programmer training in C# and java and development of database-supported information systems. In particular, special focus is placed on the conception of IT solutions and the associated development of requirement profiles and system specifications. Core business skills are also taught, such as accounting and balance sheet analysis, to ensure that respective operating requirements can be represented in technical software solutions.
Real Project Situation
An essential element of the Business Informatics degree program is an integrated practical project carried out with business clients. It is the students’ task to carry out the project independently and successfully. In the course of the project, students gain additional practical training and experience as project leaders. The program also incorporates the study of two foreign languages, taught only by native speakers, a semester abroad and a minimum ten-week traineeship. Graduates leave equipped to start a career straight away or alternatively go on to study for a postgraduate Master’s degree (also possible abroad).
