Finding Suitable Accomodation

Rented apartments

Students who intend to rent an apartment during their studies should be aware that there are costs on top of the monthly rent that must be considered. Upon signing the rental agreement, tenants must often pay a commission to the real estate agent (if one is involved in the deal), a contract tax, a security deposit, and transfer fees (e.g., for furniture or installed equipment). Furthermore, there are numerous utility fees such as electricity, heating, telephone (landline), Internet connection, cable television, etc., which can significantly increase monthly expenses. Advertisements for apartments in Kufstein and the surroundings can be found on various websites and in local newspapers.

Shared apartments

A shared apartment is a good alternative to the student residence. However, students that opt to live in a shared apartment must take responsibility for organizing their flatmates and making all the necessary arrangements (rental agreement, utility services, etc.) themselves. To make the search for a suitable apartment easier, the students of the FH Kufstein have installed an online platform through the Austrian Student Union (ÖH).

International Student Residence

For those students who would like to live in a larger community with other students, the FH Kufstein has its own student residence. The International Student Residence (ISR) comprises three modern buildings with 55 single and 35 double studio apartments. Situated in a quiet location on the bank of the River Inn, the residence is only a 10-minute walk from the Kufstein Old Town and 15 minutes from the university. A bicycle and pedestrian path (“Inn Promenade”), which passes directly in front of the residence and runs along the River Inn, provides a scenic route into and out of town.
