This course will concentrate on in-depth aspects of public space as a location for events. Particular city areas and their distinctive patterns will be investigated. Particular consideration will be given to the dis-course about the differences between regions and cities. Particular attention will also be paid to the European Union's attempt to create new urban space designs such as the so-called macro-regions. With reference to base data for demographic change, concepts of glocalization will be discussed, in particular the implementation of urban structures within regional spaces.
