Students:
- understand the connection between research practice and fact-based decision-making processes and can explain the basic principles of social scientific research.
- understand the logic of scientific inquiry and the purposes of empirical social science research, its strengths and weaknesses.
- understand the role of basic theoretical assumptions and terms in the research process in the social sciences.
- understand the role of theory, conceptualization, and theoretical frameworks
- understand the utility of various quantitative and qualitative methodologies for the purpose of exploring, describing, explaining, and predicting social phenomena and understanding social reality.
- are able to develop their own research design systematically on a MA level and set it out methodically correctly.
- have mastered the design of questionnaires and interview guidelines.
- are able to carry out an empirical data collection.
- are familiar with methods of analog and digital data evaluation.
