New Chairmen of the Board at FH Kufstein Tirol-Private Foundation

The new Chairmen of the Board, Dr. Herbert Marschitz and Franz Mayer, assumed their office on December 21, 2016. Their predecessors, Dr. Siegfried Dillersberger and Ing. Hans Treichl, boast an impressive track record over a six-year term of office.

The Kufstein authorities appointed Franz Mayer, former Director of the Stadtwerke Kufstein utility company and CEO of Kufgem, as Executive Chairman. The former mayor of Kufstein, Dr. Herbert Marschitz, was appointed as Chair of the Board, proposed by the Association for International Courses of Study & Training of the FH Kufstein. DDR. Herwig van Staa, President of the Tyrolean Parliament, remains Deputy Chair of the Board, appointed by the authorities of the Tyrol.

A six-year success story

The mayor of Kufstein, Mag. Martin Krumschnabel, regards the past six years as a success story. “The era of the outgoing Chairmen with Siegfried Dillersberger as Chair and Hans Treichl as Executive Chairman was highly successful. Not only did they commit to the expansion of the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, they also made the institution home to an international school." The representative of the Kufstein authorities predicts a successful future for the town as a hub for education and training. "The outgoing Chairmen of the Board have advanced the teaching spectrum greatly, laying the foundation for a promising continuation by their successors."

FH Kufstein Tirol as a key educational institution in Austria

The Chair of the Advisory Board of the FH Kufstein Tirol-Private Foundation thanked the outgoing Chairmen. "The two Chairmen Siegfried Dillersberger and Hans Treichl have been committed leaders. They contributed substantially to today's position of the FH Kufstein Tirol as one of the most renowned educational institutions in Austria with high-quality training and significant contributions to research. I would like to express my profound gratitude on behalf of the Advisory Board," said Josef Waltl.

The Advisory Board also has a new member. Simon Hermann Huber ended his successful six-year term. Mayor Martin Krumschnabel has been his successor since November 2016 and will represent the interests of the Kufstein authorities in the Board. "I would like to thank Simon Hermann Huber for the long-standing and friendly collaboration," said Josef Waltl.

New Chairmen want to continue the success story

Mag. Hannes Bodner, Chairman of the Association for International Courses of Study & Training of the FH Kufstein Tirol is very pleased that renowned personalities were found who will continue the successful journey the outgoing Chairmen had embarked on. "Herbert Marschitz and Franz Mayer have been part of the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences project from day one. They know best what the FH Kufstein Tirol needs," concluded the Chairman.

The Advisory Board Chairs are convinced that the new Chairmen of the Board, together with the President of the Tyrolean Parliament, Hewig van Staa, will continue the success story of the FH Kufstein Tirol as well as the International School Kufstein Tirol. "A further expansion will take place over the next years to ensure that the requirements of the FH Kufstein Tirol and the International School Kufstein Tirol will be met," explained the new Executive Chair, Franz Mayer. Chairman Herbert Marschitz said, "We would like to thank our predecessors for their commitment. We will do our best to further cement the reputation of Kufstein as a hub for education and training with outstanding institutions."
