universityandfamily Certificate renewed for FH Kufstein Tirol

01.10.2018 | General
FH Kufstein Tirol has already received the universityandfamily Certificate for the third time. The university has held this distinction since 2012 as one of 27 universities in Austria.

The role model function, which FH Kufstein Tirol inevitably possesses as an educational institute was the reason for the first audit in 2012. Even back then, Kufstein provided extra-occupational study programs that allowed for a balance between studies, career and family. After reauditing in 2015, the university in Kufstein is again receiving the universityandfamily Certificate from Familie & Beruf Management GmbH, the Austrian-wide coordination office for compatibility measures. The certificate is presented by the Federal Minister of Women Family and Youth.

Focus on the care obligation and health

Goals and measures that were developed back then have already been implemented: The illness of children or relatives requiring care was accepted as grounds of excuse. The university has anchored family-friendliness in its mission statement and regularly raises awareness for healthy eating.

“We are highly motivated as we approach the next three years. Our goal is to intensify communication about the topic of compatibility and realize a broad eLearning application in our study programs. We provide health-related offers for our employees and are presently developing a new home office regulation”, explained Project Manager Mag. (FH) Sara Neubauer.

FH Kufstein Tirol sought as success story multiple times

FH Kufstein Tirol presented best-practice examples at multiple networking meetings with the former Federal Minister of Family and Youth Dr. Sophie Karmasin. “We are especially happy to have again received the universityandfamily Certificate. At the same time, we want to take advantage of the opportunity and set an example for our students, the executives of the future, an example they can carry forward into their professional lives”, added Managing Director Prof. (FH) Thomas Madritsch.
