Memories and networking: HomeComing 2017 at the FH Kufstein Tirol

14.06.2017 | General
More than 300 graduates from all study programs at the FH Kufstein Tirol returned to their alma mater on 9 June 2017 for the annual HomeComing reunion event.

Class reunions divide opinion: some love them, others hate them. The fact that 318 former students returned to their alma as part of the HomeComing event in June 2017 is a sign that most graduates have fond memories of their time at the FH Kufstein Tirol. “Many of our guests traveled a long way to be here, including from places as far flung as Barcelona, to meet up again with their former classmates,” said Jennifer Krüger from the Alumni & Career Services at the FH Kufstein Tirol.

Many alumni have maintained close connections to the university of applied sciences in Kufstein, Tyrol. As well as attending such get-togethers, they continue to support the FH Kufstein Tirol with the development of new products and pass on their expertise as external lecturers or guest lecturers. This continued relationship is also an excellent way for the alumni themselves to recruit graduates for their own companies and offer students the chance to complete internships in a friendly and professional working environment.

Exchanging ideas, experiences and memories

During their time at the FH Kufstein Tirol students learn that networking is a key skill in order to be successful in business. By attending conferences, meetings and other events as part of their study programs they get to know representatives of companies and business associations. “Our alumni enjoy meeting up with their former classmates years after graduation to exchange ideas, experiences and memories. This enables them to benefit from the knowledge and expertise gathered by their former colleagues,” explains Krüger.

The task of the Alumni & Career Services is to help former students stay in contact after graduation. One way in which this connection can be maintained is through the annual HomeComing reunion event which all alumni are invited to attend. This year’s edition saw over 300 former students return to the FH Kufstein Tirol for a fun and relaxed get-together.

Five study programs celebrate their tenth anniversary

The HomeComing 2017 was particularly special for the 2003 graduation class of the study programs Facility Management, International Business Studies, Facility & Real Estate Management, Sports, Culture & Event Management and IT & Business. These five diploma courses celebrated their tenth anniversary and were honored as part of the eventt.
