Specialist training in digital transformation
No company can afford to close itself off to the megatrend of digitization. “Graduates strategically deliberate and check whether existing approaches and business models are viable for the future. Openness to change is the basic precondition for successful transformation,” as Head of Science of the program Prof. (FH) DDr. Mario Situm, MBA explained. “Structure and vision make an efficient and cost-effective change toward digitization possible,” Situm went on to say. Digital transformation managers take on a central role – they are professionals who combine business-related skill with digitization.
Digitization as a requirement for the professional world
Digitization also changes the requirements for the working environment and for employee training. The new master program gives participants the requisite know-how. Digital transformation managers constitute an independent occupational profile with a high potential for the future.
The course illuminates various topical fields of Industry 4.0 from the perspective of business economics and management. Over the course of three semesters, participants receive specialist management training that focuses on digitization from a strategic and procedural perspective. Students learn to plan, initiate and control transformational processes while establishing points of contract with technical aspects. The special characteristic of the executive training is the business-related skill combined with basic digital-technical expertise and the development of individual and targeted solution approaches. The admission criteria consist in a bachelor’s degree as well as five years of professional experience.
Cooperation with specialist institutions and companies in the German-speaking world
The Business School at FH Kufstein Tirol offers Digital Transformation Management in cooperation with two highly specialized institutions in the area of digital transformation. Thus, selected modules are held at FH Joanneum in Graz and at the University of Applied Languages of SDI Munich. Students complete nine of a total of twelve modules at FH Kufstein Tirol.
Participants learn to better understand various perspectives as well as the wide spectrum of Industry 4.0. The degree program incorporates companies that already implement digital transformation in a targeted manner, which expands the transfer of knowledge and gives participants access to practical experience and solution approaches.

The master degree program Digital Transformation Management provides valuable further training for professionals in executive and interface positions as well as for consultants. The program has been specifically designed for this target group and is therefore extra-occupational. Blended learning combines Internet-based learning with a suitable number of physical attendance days and thus maintains a high level of motivation and work-life balance.
The registration for Digital Transformation Management is open from now until September 15, 2018. The program starts on September 28, 2018.
A study has been financed for the development of the master degree program via the project DigiFit. The project was made possible by the regional management KUUSK, which was able to generate EU funds from the Leader Program.
