Thomas Madritsch sworn in as FM ambassador for Austria
At the first meeting of ambassadors of the European Facility Management Network (EuroFM) 2018 in Sofia, Managing Director of FH Kufstein Tirol Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch was sworn in as one of 25 ambassadors worldwide. He thus represents the Austrian facility management industry sector in the global network EuroFM.
25 FM ambassadors from Egypt to the United Kingdom
On the occasion of the European Facility Management Conference (EFMC) 2018 in Sofia, EuroFM Vice-President and Head of the Ambassador Program Goran Milanov welcomed 25 ambassadors from Egypt, Brazil, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Japan, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Austria, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, USA, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
International and yet local industry network
The goal of the ambassador program is to elevate the industry network to an international level. Ambassadors improve awareness and visibility of the industry sector via contacts to media, local companies, universities and other partners. Ambassadors are sworn in for a period of two years.
“Thomas Madritsch is a long-term companion and member of the Austrian network for facility management, the FMA and IFMA Austria. Based on his 25-year experience in the sector in practice, teaching and research, he is an excellent candidate to fill this important position,” said Chairperson of the Board of Facility Management Austria (FMA) Doris Bele, MSc with delight.
New Ambassador Madritsch brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the table
The new FM Ambassador in Austria Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch has been the managing director of FH Kufstein Tirol since 2011, which, according to the 2017 polytechnic ranking of Industriemagazin constitutes a “hotspot” in facility management.
Prior to this, he was the director of studies of Facility Management degree programs for more than ten years and has 15 years of practical professional experience in this area.
“We are extremely happy that Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch has been sworn in as FM ambassador for Austria. We regard the function of ambassador as extremely important in order to obtain local input in the international industry association and for bridge building purposes with the commitment to recognize and convey both sides,” commented the President of IFMA Austria DI (FH) Manuel Radauer.
As director of studies, Madritsch strongly advanced participation in university programs, specialist events and conferences as well as the exchange of ideas and information. He initiated and led a series of innovative research projects and is also responsible for numerous publications. The quality and range of his work has received great national and international recognition. Through his activities on the board, Madritsch has made essential contributions to the development of the occupational profile of facility manager and been distinguished many times for his achievements.
