University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol receives certificate for employer branding

10.11.2020 | General
This year a special prize for “The best employer branding for compatibility in corona times” was given as part of the “Family & Profession” government prize. The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol was certified for its dedication.

The daily newspaper Kurier awarded this year’s special prize in cooperation with the employer assessment platform kununu. During the voting, 37 companies, including seven educational institutions, could be voted for. The focus of this vote was on family-friendly employer branding during corona times.

Mobile working project

Initially, the corona crisis was a challenge for the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol since all study and teaching operations were handled virtually during the lockdown. This changeover especially gave staff members with care-giving obligations the difficult job of combining their professions & families. This is why the university of applied sciences in Kufstein found individual solutions to offer staff members more time flexibility for better compatibility of care-giving and working. The mobile working project created the conditions to help staff members as much as possible and take the pressure off of them. Flexible work times and the option of independent work planning especially made a positive contribution during the corona time.

Care-giving obligations and risk groups

The measures that were taken during the height of the corona pandemic are being continued. This enables the group of Covid-19 risk patients to work from home. During summer vacation, the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol allowed parents to extend the mobile working option up to 100 percent of their work time to ensure that their children were cared for. The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol offers targeted, individual work-time models adjusted to staff members’ life situations to enable more flexible allocation of work hours.

More compatibility and health

The positive experiences of staff members with mobile working during the corona time contributed to the fact that this project will continue to be expanded and pursued in the future. In the future, the focus should also be on resilience, stress management and burnout prevention related to mobile working. These kinds of measures, workshops and support are already being planned. “We not only want to guarantee compatibility of professions & families, but we also want to ensure the mental health of our staff members. Consideration will also be given to childcare at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol,” said Christoph Reimer, Head of Human Resource Management. “Our business culture is characterized by compatibility, inclusion and diversity. This is why we as a family-friendly employer actively promote compatibility of families & professions and want to continue to pursue more models that ensure the well-being of our staff members and create added value for our staff,” added University of Applied Sciences Professor Dr. Thomas Madritsch, CEO and Managing Director of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol.
