Contwise Phönix (Contwise Phoenix)

At the heart of the Contwise Phönix (Contwise Phoenix) project are the Contwise Maps and Contwise Infra software from General Solutions Steiner GmbH. Contwise Maps is a digital map solution for destination marketing that offers, among other things, the use of 3D maps, panoramic displays, and a route planning tool. Contwise Infra is a tool for the digital mapping, management, and maintenance of infrastructure and enables users to document the entire infrastructure of a region in a completely digital way.

Next to General Solutions Steiner GmbH, additional project partners are Kitzbüheler Alpen Marketing GmbH and the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol.

Usability Study and Findings

In this project, the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is responsible for testing the usability of the aforementioned software packages both at the level of the backend and the application level. A good usability of the software and its apps is particularly important because both packages are used in the tourism industry, where there is a high fluctuation of staff. The goal is to achieve the flattest possible learning curve for the software packages so that users can use them without issues right from the start.

To this end, the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol will conduct three consecutive usability studies with first-time users of the software. Based on the hurdles encountered by users in these studies, concrete recommendations for action will be developed. These recommendations are then incorporated into the software by the programming team of General Solutions Steiner GmbH. As a result of this iterative approach, a significant improvement of the usability of the software packages Contwise Maps and Contwise Infra is expected.
