Learning outcomes of course unit

Graduates are able to formulate research questions in an appropriate manner and methodically plan the procedure for answering these. They are able to research, assess and cite specialist literature.
Students can write an academic paper of medium complexity and comprehensible scope while taking the bachelor thesis guidelines of FH-Kufstein into account. Moreover, they can create tables and illustrations and integrate these into the thesis.

course contents

Introductory courses for academic writing especially focus on conveying an understanding of the peculiarities, rules and basic features of science and academic writing.
Students learn how to independently write seminar papers and bachelor theses at an academic level. This preparation focuses on literature and discussions regarding the quality of academic writing.
Especially the terms of intellectual integrity and intersubjective transparency are important in this regard.
Moreover, the lecture also includes formal aspects such as the creation of tables and illustrations with text-processing programs.
