Students can identify both technical as well as economic and ecological aspects of fossil energy sources such as petroleum, natural gas, coal and uranium and relate these to energy-management requirements and developments.

course contents

The course conveys an understanding of global and national flows of fossil energy sources. Basic concepts and fundamentals of fossil energies. The global and national energy demand/energy mix. The energy conversion chain and energy balance. The special concepts and historical developments of fossil energy sources such as coal, petroleum, natural gas and uranium and their extraction, transport, storage and usage.
