Learning outcomes of course unit

Graduates are able to: - describe the most important building and construction materials as well as to compare and contrast their differences. - describe the lifecycle aspects of building and construction materials. - describe and develop solutions for construction details in building projects.

course contents

- Basic knowledge and overview of common building materials for construction and development. - Assessment and selection of building materials considering technical, economic and ecological aspects. - Holistic consideration of common building materials: commodities, production, processing, use, reuse, recovery and disposal. - Knowledge of common constructive connections and detailed structural engineering solutions (new construction and redevelopment).
