Learning outcomes of course unit

Students are able to:
• define the most important manufacturing procedures including their advantages and disadvantages.
• analyse and assess technical and economic characteristics of manufacturing procedures.

course contents

• Overview of manufacturing procedures from the areas basic forms, reshaping, joining, changing material properties and coating
• Shape cutting: turning, milling, drilling, grinding
• Stream cutting by employing autogenem flame cutting, plasma jets, electron jet cutting, laser cutting, water jet cutting
• Cutting off by using cutting tools including progressive cutting tools and combination cutting tools
• Basic forms: casting with lost moulds and with permanent moulds, sintering
• Forming: forging, rolling, shaping of sheet metal by bending, deep drawing, bending
• Fitting: welding technology, soldering technology, adhesive technology
• Change material properties: annealing, hardening, tempering and tempering
• Fundamental construction of machine tools and manucfacturing facilities with different processing procedures
• Practical determination of manufacturing key figures of different manufacturing procedures
• Measuring devices
