• formulate research questions in an appropriate manner.
• plan methodical approaches to answering research questions.
• research, evaluate and quote from specialist literature.
• plan and carry out a relatively short piece of academic writing of medium complexity.

course contents

• This introduction to academic working methods is designed to teach students the special characteristics, rules and fundamentals of science and academic writing. The focus is on students‘ ability to analyse texts using hermaneutics.
• They receive the preparation they require in order to write seminar theses independently at a high academic level. This preparation includes both guidance on how to use literature as well as discussions on the issue of quality in academic papers, focusing in particular on intellectual honesty and intersubjective comprehensibility.
