Learning outcomes of course unit

Students can:
• create a business plan which focuses on budgeting, financing and financial controlling.
• decide on a form of organization for a concrete case study and illustrate financing options.
• define vision, mission and corporate identity
• formulate strategic and operative project targets
• apply instruments of strategic financial controlling to a case study and work through it using a SWOT analysis, environment analysis, portfolio, scenario planning and gap analysis.
• present the information needs and reporting system, suggest concrete measures for an internal controlling system (ICS), and present and discuss financial controlling functions.
• create a budget and planned P&L
• create a financial plan and liquidity plan
• define cost types, cost centers and cost objects and carry out a sales and purchasing calculation.

Budgeting in the areas of sports, culture and events
Basics of cost accounting and financial controlling: tasks and targets
Strategic financial controlling
Internal financial controlling systems in companies
Important financial controlling tasks such as budgeting, target-actual comparison and action planning
Operative controlling
Cost accounting: full cost accounting, direct costing, cost price estimate, cost-type accounting, cost center accounting, cost unit accounting and sales calculation
Financial and liquidity planning
Balance sheet analysis, key figures and Quick Test
