The course offers an introduction to human resource management in the international sphere. In particular, it focusses on management of multi-cultural teams in international companies, human resource policies and practices across geographical borders and multinational performance management. Furthermore, it centers around managing expatriates with an emphasis on staff recruitment for international assignments, expat preparation, re-entry training, and development, as well as a critical evaluation of the effectiveness of international deployment. And finally, current trends in IHRM will be addressed.
