German for Beginners A1-A2
This course is for students with no or very limited German language skills who would like to develop language competencies at the A1-A2 level. The course provides resources and training for the development of basic communication skills that can help you communicate in German at the personal and social level, as well as at a basic level in an academic setting. Although we will practice all communicative skills, we will place special emphasis on speaking and listening skills.
Course Content
- Interactive communication training at the A1-A2 level with special emphasis on developing oral communication and listening comprehension skills
- Communication themes include: introductions and presentations; greetings and leave-takings; communication at the university, in class, at the café and at the store; exchanging information about activities, schedules, people, places and things associated with work and studies, leisure time, interests, expressing likes and dislikes, and negotiation of meaning in basic contexts
- Vocabulary practice and grammar instruction corresponding to the themes mentioned at the A1/A2 level.
- Due to the small group size, the instructor will be able to tailor instruction to meet the particular needs of the group of participants.
