Mandarin is one of the most common languages of the world with over 960 million native speakers worldwide. The origins of Chinese writing date back 4000-5000 years. Various dialects are in use, but a common character system unites the language. In addition to learning a new language, Chinese offers the unique opportunity to also get to know a new culture and way of thinking. Chinese has a completely different structure compared to European languages, which is why the language has remained mysterious and exciting for centuries.
Learning to write in Chinese takes time and effort, but is also a lot of fun and a good way to practice concentration. However, conversational Chinese and Chinese grammar are easier than many other foreign languages.

English is the world language par excellence; about 400 million people grow up with English as their mother tongue. Over a billion people speak English as their second language.
At FH Kufstein, the entry level (B2) corresponds to the level of the Austrian general qualification for university entrance. Courses range from B2 to C1.
Although we remain aware of our European roots, we teach international English, i.e. not just English associated with certain regions (e.g. American, British or Australian English). We also prepare our students for a professional life in which English is the lingua franca so that they can efficiently communicate and negotiate with non-native speakers as well.

French is still very common as a second language in Arabian-speaking North Africa and Indochina due to colonial influences. Furthermore, French is an official language of the European Union, the official language of the African Union as well as, together with English, the only working language of the United Nations.
