Certification
The university of applied sciences certified course leading to the qualification of Certified International Turnaround Professional is a continuing education program at Senior Executive level in an academic setting. Those who complete the program successfully are awarded a university of applied sciences certificate as a “Certified International Turnaround Professional”.
Required elements for the award of a university of applied sciences certificate as a “Certified International Turnaround Professional” are:
- Final written examination
- Course log
- Attendance
1. Final written examination
The course leading to university of applied sciences certification as a “Certified International Turnaround Professional” concludes with a 5-hour written final examination. The individual elements break down as follows:
(1) Company analysis & leadership
(10% / 30 min.)
(2) Restructuring process
(10% / 30 min.)
(3) Legal parameters of German or Austrian law
(30% / 90 min.)
(4) Financial restructuring
(15% / 45 min.)
(5) Performance restructuring
(15% / 45 min.)
(6) Restructuring and turnaround strategies
(10% / 30 min.)
(7) Integrated planning and control systems
(10% / 30 min.)
2. Course log
Participants are expected to keep a course log containing a summary report of each day’s classes.
3. Attendance
Participants are expected to be present at Kufstein University of Applied Sciences for a minimum of 8 days.

Criteria for the award of the university of applied sciences certificate
- A positive assessment score of at least 60% for the final written paper
- An assessment score of at least 60% for the course log
- At least 90% (8 days) attendance of classes
Successful completion of the qualification entitles the holder to bear the title of Certified International Turnaround Professional, CITuP, but unlike the Master’s degree at the Institute for Cross-Border Restructuring, Kufstein University of Applied Sciences, it is not an academic title, nor does it signify a recognized profession.
If the final examination is taken, but not passed, it can be retaken. For course attendance without (passing) a final examination, participants receive a confirmation of participation issued by the university of applied sciences.
Award of certificate
Ceremonial award of the university of applied sciences certificate as a “Certified International Turnaround Professional, CITuP” will take place at the annual conference "4th International Symposium on Restructuring” on 2nd October 2015 at Kufstein University of Applied Sciences.
