Learning outcomes of course unit

Upon completion of this course students will be able to:
- describe, analyse and develop various business strategies and their methods
- describe, analyse and develop solution methods and strategies in staff management, staff organisation and staff development.

basics business administration, human resource management (bachelor level)

course contents

- Strategy development, strategy implementation with particular consideration for strategic budgeting and balanced scorecard with quantitative goals and metrics. Aims, tasks and organisational integration
- Analysis and planning tools: competitor analysis, PIMS model, SWOT analysis and benchmarking, concept of the learning curve, portfolio analysis, gap analysis, scoring models, cost-benefit-analysis, cost-effectiveness calculations
- Leading a company, business leadership, board of executives
- Target setting, practice-oriented intervention of current human resources knowledge
- Human resources management terminology: professional acquaintance with subject-specific terminology
- Tool box: instruments and concepts for solving human resources problems
