Learning outcomes of course unit

Students will become familiar with the underlying trends in event management:
- Trends in events in terms of participants, content and technical innovations
- Integration of new media and technology in event marketing, organization and planning
- Trends in the events industry, in particular regarding sustainability and 'Green Events' as well as in the field of 'Events 2.0'

Students will be able to evaluate the developments in terms of the economic, political and social effects. New trends will be recognized and used.

course contents

The latest trends in the event industry will be dealt with and future trends will be analysed. Developments in event implementation in terms of technology and marketing will be identified. Students will become familiar with industry trends such as sustainability in event implementation ('Green Events') and the concept of 'Events 2.0'. This will be followed by a critical discussion of the emerging trends in the event industry.
