Crossmedia-Production & Digital Design II

Learning outcomes of course unit

The students will become conversant with the design of time-based media, their technical background and professional production.
Building on the first part of the course they will, unaided, be able to produce and combine cross media content aligned to the respective target groups and integrate them in web-based media presences.

In the second part of this course the focus will be on the conception and production of audio-visual media. The main topics will be:
- Characteristics and areas of application of audio-visual media
- Design of time-based media
- Narration and narrative techniques
- Editorial work
- Sound and image design

In the practice units the following topics will be addressed:
- Video techniques (standards like HD, SD, equipment)
- Video production (pre-production, production and post-production)
- Audio techniques (using the microphone, standards, equipment)
- Audio production (recording, processing, cutting, export)

In the context of a project to be carried out by the students they will be able to synthesize the knowledge and skills acquired in both parts of the course.
