Learning outcomes of course unit
In this course the following topics will be addressed: the basic differences between discrete and continuous media and also between pixel and vector graphics; introduction to the theory of colors; manipulation of image and video data (filters, image point operations, video compression techniques, etc.), processing images using Java and media developing process (SMART process); challenges presented by MM programming (media integration, synchronization, interactivity and events).
In the exercise component of the course the theoretical content acquired in the lecture component will be illustrated using practical examples and implemented within the context of a small project to be completed in a team.
prerequisites and co-requisites
The students will acquire detailed knowledge of the general structure of media and the basic methods for processing and manipulation of media data (text, image, video, audio) on the web.
