FH Kufstein Tirol sees strong growth in students and programmes

University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol CEO Managing Director Prof. (FH) Dr Thomas Madritsch is looking forward to the coming academic year with great anticipation.

Kufstein University is starting 2026 with significant growth. In the current academic year, 2,400 students from 66 countries are enrolled at the educational institution. But it is not only the number of students that is steadily increasing; the range of study programmes on offer is also continuing to grow.

The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol continues to grow. This is also confirmed by the latest figures: 2,400 students from 66 countries are enrolled for the 2025/26 academic year. This represents an increase of approximately 10 per cent compared to the same period last year. The number of graduates rose to 10,600 in the 2025/26 academic year and the number of international partner universities to 250. New additions include destinations such as Hawaii and Uruguay.

STUDY PROGRAMS WITH PROSPECTS

The FH Kufstein Tirol currently offers 28 degree programs that are closely aligned with the needs of the economy – 9 of the 28 degree programs are taught entirely in English. The 14 bachelor's and 14 master's programs are offered both full-time and part-time. The range of courses includes the bachelor's program in Drone Engineering, which is unique in Austria, the newly designed master's program in Energy & Sustainability Management, and the Sports, Culture & Event Management program, which covers all forms of study. The teaching staff consists of 350 experts from business and science who impart teaching content in a practical and personal manner.

DIVERSITY & MOBILITY

The gender distribution at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is balanced, with an average of 57 per cent female and 43 per cent male students. The university promotes an inclusive educational environment in which all students receive the best possible support. In addition to diversity, the Tyrolean university focuses on internationality and cultural exchange. In the 2024/25 academic year, 215 international students from 37 countries spent a semester in Kufstein; in return, 201 Kufstein students completed their semester abroad in 40 countries.
