Frequently Asked Questions

Which application documents are required?

To get to know you better, we need a current CV with your most important experiences and achievements. You are also welcome to enclose a cover letter to tell us more about yourself. Proof of professional experience, training and references or letters of recommendation are helpful. If further information is required, we will be happy to contact you.

What does the application process look like?

Upon receipt of your application, we will carefully review your documents. If you are among the most qualified candidates, you will be invited to a personal interview at FH Kufstein Tirol. Depending on the position, if we need more time to make a decision, a second interview may be arranged, possibly with the team you would be working with, so you can meet your potential colleagues. If the decision is in your favor, we will contact you with a contract offer.

For professorships, after your application has been reviewed, you will be asked to give a test lecture on a predetermined topic, followed by a hearing with the hiring committee. The top candidates will be ranked and invited to a second interview at FH Kufstein, where you will also meet your future team members. If you are selected, we will be happy to offer you a contract.

Throughout the application process, we will keep you informed of your status.

How long does the application process take?

Our goal is to make a decision as quickly as possible and to keep the application process as short as possible - also in the interest of the applicant. Of course, due to the nature of the position or the large number of applications we receive, we may sometimes need more time than planned to review your application.

However, we want to take the time to do this, so we ask for your understanding if the selection process takes a little longer. We will keep you informed of any delays in the process.

What do we attach great importance to in applications?

It is important to us that your application is thorough and includes all required documents. We value personal interaction, so we would appreciate it if you would contact us beforehand to inquire about the position you are interested in.

Before your interview, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with FH Kufstein Tirol by exploring our website - it is well worth a visit. During the interview, we emphasize respectful interaction, creating a comfortable atmosphere and encouraging open communication.

How does onboarding work?

On your first day at FH Kufstein Tirol, we will take care of the recruitment formalities together with you and provide you with a comprehensive information pack. Before you go to your new workplace, you will be given a welcome tour of our building, during which we will introduce you to our employees.
You will then usually meet your manager and be handed over to your team. We are happy to combine your first day with a lunch together to make it easier for you to get to know each other.
In the first few weeks, you will receive comprehensive training in your area of responsibility and will be supported professionally by your team. You will gain an insight into other specialist areas, departments and degree programmes through the so-called departmental rotation. This takes place at regular intervals and gives you a holistic understanding of the various tasks of the entire university.
