IBS full-time students with Dipl.-Ing. Georg Kapfinger on site at 3CON in Ebbs for the start of the practical project.

On October 15, 2024, the starting signal was given for an exciting practical project: the full-time students in the bachelor's degree program in International Business Studies immersed themselves in the company's work processes at the kick-off at the 3CON headquarters in Ebbs. Their goal? Innovative optimization proposals that could make a difference.

The practical project gave students the opportunity to get to know the client and its way of working. As a leading provider of innovative technologies for the production and assembly of vehicle interior components, 3CON sets global standards in the automotive industry. The company continuously invests in the further development of efficient, sustainable processes and in new areas of application in industry. Among other things, 3CON has also been offering advanced, patent-pending methodologies and systems for the pharmaceutical and medical industries since 2023.

After analyzing internal communication by a group of part-time students during the summer semester, the focus of the current project is on process management. The students are divided into six teams, each dealing with different departments and phases of product development in the company. The aim is to make the processes more efficient so that the time span from the start of a project to the delivery of the machines is significantly reduced.

Their tasks include analyzing existing business processes, conducting interviews with employees, group leaders and the CEO, and performing international benchmarking comparisons. These analyses should help to identify potential areas for improvement and develop concrete optimization proposals. A factory tour in the morning illustrated the various production steps and provided a practical introduction to the project.

The collaboration with 3CON offers students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in a dynamic business environment and develop innovative approaches to increasing efficiency. At the end of the project, the teams will present their proposed solutions, which should increase the efficiency of procedures and thus also contribute to the sustainable improvement of business processes.

Our students are looking forward to the challenge and to putting their know-how into practice.
