Numerous interested people gathered in the “Festsaal” (Festivities Hall) of the Kufstein University at the Management Forum Kufstein to listen to crisis expert Peter Trost.

This time, the series of events was dedicated to the topic of crises and their prevention, analysis and management. Interested parties were able to follow the lecture and the subsequent discussion live on social media.

On the evening of November 22, 2023, the latest Management Forum Kufstein took place in the “Festsaal” (Festivities Hall) of the Kufstein University, which once again met with a great response and attracted many interested people to Kufstein. Students from the Kufstein University accompanied the event with their expertise via Instagram, keeping interested followers up to date before and during the forum.

During the event, Peter Trost used current case studies to provide the numerous participants with valuable knowledge about crises in terms of their prevention, analysis and management. His definition of a crisis as the “climax or turning point of a dangerous conflict development in a natural or social system” laid the foundation for the following practical insights.

CORONA PANDEMIC AND RUSSIAN WAR OF AGGRESSION AS EXAMPLES

In addition to the Russian war of aggression, Trost's repertoire also included the coronavirus pandemic. He made a particularly impressive illustration of the possibility of recognizing a crisis at an early stage with regard to the coronavirus pandemic based on daily developments in Wuhan, China, as early as mid-November 2019.

During the course of the evening, Peter Trost also pointed out the limits of crisis management. These included the impossibility of predicting future events with absolute probability.

He derived important approaches to crises from his many years of practical experience: The ability to forecast crises not only increases resilience in terms of crisis management, but also opens up a wide range of options for action.

DISCUSSION ROUND AND EXCHANGE IN A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE

The subsequent discussion round with the audience deepened the topic and the exchange of information between Trost and the audience. Finally, a buffet in a relaxed atmosphere offered the opportunity for a personal exchange between speakers, students and interested parties.
