On Girls' Day Tyrol, schoolgirls from the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium Sillgasse Innsbruck gained an insight into career prospects with a future at the FH Kufstein Tirol.
The fh4schools program offers many opportunities to get to know campus life, whether it's visiting BORG Schwaz, attending HTL Jenbach's company day, or participating in individual workshops as part of Girls' Day. Students discover their strengths and interests and gain insights into degree programs and career fields.
The program fh4schools at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol offers high school students (ages 15 to 18) a wide range of opportunities to discover campus life and explore degree programs and career fields at an early stage. Whether during school visits such as to the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium (BORG) Schwaz, at the company day of the higher technical college (HTL) Jenbach, or in interactive workshops at the University of Applied Sciences as part of Girls' Day, students can get to know their strengths and interests and thus tackle their career orientation in a targeted manner.
BORG SCHWAZ AS GUEST
Students in the 3rd grade of the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium Schwaz visited the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences as part of their computer science week. They experienced more than just theory: a tailor-made program offered them exciting insights into the degree programs Drone Engineering & AI-based Innovation* and Coding & Digital Design as well as current
research projects. This allowed them to experience the fascinating world of computer science firsthand. A tour of the campus and laboratories rounded off the visit and gave the students an even deeper insight into university life.

An early start and a lot of experience: The school class from Schwaz used the day to gain an in-depth insight into degree programs and careers.
“Visiting the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences during Computer Science Week was very interesting and informative. We got a brief glimpse into the various degree programs offered there. We were very impressed by the modern facilities and the practical focus. It was a great opportunity to learn more about educational opportunities after school. Many thanks to the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol for the warm welcome and the informative tour,” said a student from BORG Schwaz, specializing in computer science, commenting on the school visit with her class.
Company day at HTL Jenbach
School visits are also part of the regular program at fh4schools. At the beginning of April, a team from the FH Kufstein Tirol visited HTL Jenbach for a company open house and provided information about the practical degree programs offered. Visitors in Jenbach were particularly interested in the degree programs Industrial Engineering & Management, Drone Engineering & AI-based Innovation*, Facility Management & Real Estate Management, and Energy & Sustainability Management.
I WAS PARTICULARLY PLEASED TO SEE THE ENTHUSIASM WITH WHICH THE STUDENTS APPROACHED TECHNOLOGY AND HOW MUCH THIS MADE THEM INTERESTED IN OUR BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAM IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING.

Girls' Day with workshops on sustainability and 3D printing
Girls' Day Tyrol is also an integral part of the fh4schools program. At the end of April 2025, seven girls from the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium Sillgasse Innsbruck visited the campus of the FH Kufstein Tirol as part of Girls' Day Tyrol. For the second time, the University of Applied Sciences took part in this important career orientation day with an exciting workshop program. Girls' Day offers girls and young women in particular the opportunity to experience careers in technology, natural sciences, and computer science firsthand.
At the Kufstein campus, women in technical fields have long been an integral part of the community, which is why Girls' Day is a great opportunity to give girls practical insights and encourage them on their path to future-oriented careers. The two workshops covered two important topics:
- Experiencing sustainability: At four stations, they experienced various aspects of the climate crisis and creative solution approaches.
- Just make it – from design to finished product: The students learned how to digitize their own sketches and turn them into reality using modern equipment such as laser cutters and 3D printers.
The workshops gave the girls an opportunity to learn about possible fields of study and careers and discover their own interests and strengths. The event concluded with a lunch in the company cafeteria, where everyone had a chance to share their impressions.
A journey of discovery with FH4SCHOOLS
The program fh4schools includes the FH Workshop Academy, events such as the Long Night of Research, and various raffles, offering further opportunities to get a taste of university life and discover exciting topics. In this way, fh4schools creates a variety of ways for young people to get excited about science, technology, and research at an early age.
