Stephanie's favorite place, which reflects the charm of Budapest: evening view of the illuminated castle palace, seen across the River Danube.

A colorful culture, fascinating history, and the chance to experience political reality firsthand - Budapest offered Stefanie exactly what she had expected from a semester abroad.

Budapest fascinated Stefanie from the beginning: the size of the city, the clash of different cultures, and the special atmosphere immediately captivated her. She spent almost a year at the International Business School Budapest in Hungary, where she had many experiences. Her semester abroad as part of her bachelor's degree in International Business Studies (new: International Business Management) not only allowed her to deepen her knowledge of the subject, but also gave her a great deal of independence and personal development. Even before she started, the young woman felt she was in good hands, as the partner university clearly communicated the study conditions, expectations, and learning objectives.

 LIVING BETWEEN DIPLOMACY AND SUNRISE

Stefanie remembered her daily life while studying abroad with a smile: shorter lecture times, a wide-ranging campus with places to study or relax, and inspiring lecturers. Overall, there were numerous discussions on international politics and, in particular, Hungary's role in the EU, which opened up new ways of thinking for her. She particularly remembers a course taught by a former diplomat, who impressively opened up different perspectives on world politics.

Hungary has opened up new perspectives for me on the subjectivity of being politically correct or incorrect.

“Hungary gave me new perspectives on the subjectivity of what is politically right or wrong – and hope that different opinions can coexist in acceptance,” Stefanie described her experience.

She found the range of courses on offer to be diverse, covering everything from finance to marketing and corporate strategy to politics. She found it particularly helpful that the course catalog not only listed the content, but also the types of exams, such as presentations, midterms, and final exams. This transparency made it easier for her to choose her courses and allowed her to start the semester feeling relaxed.

In addition to her studies, Stefanie experienced many small and big moments that she will remember forever. One highlight was watching the sun rise at the castle palace after a spontaneous and long night with new friends - an experience that reflects the magic of that time for her.

SUPPORT THAT CONNECTS AND FORMS NEW FRIENDSHIPS

Both the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol and the partner university provided Stefanie with clear, reliable, and consistently helpful support, and she also received additional assistance from the Erasmus advisor.

Just as important as the academic support were the new friendships that developed during the semester. They gave Stefanie stability and transformed everyday life into many unforgettable moments. In the end, she not only gained valuable experience, but also new friendships that will last far beyond her studies.
