Peter Dietrich with the enthusiastic students of his workshop: Building Bridges – Trust and Communication for Effective Teamwork, during International Week in Alicante.
At the beginning of April, International Week took place at the University of Alicante, where Prof. (FH) Dr. Peter Dietrich inspired attendees with his interactive lecture on trust, communication, and team building.
From 1st to 4th April, the International Week at the University of Alicante in Spain attracted numerous participants with the aim of strengthening cultural exchange. Peter Dietrich was there again this year and impressed with his lecture on trust, communication and team building.
The FH Kufstein Tirol has a long-standing partnership with the University of Alicante. Numerous students from Kufstein spend their semester abroad there, while Spanish students regularly come to Kufstein. The exchange at the teaching level enriches both sides, both professionally and personally.

Peter Dietrich participated as a speaker at International Week in Alicante, where his presentation provided valuable insights for successful multicultural cooperation.
Peter Dietrich, Director of Studies for International Business Studies (BA and MA) at the FH Kufstein Tirol, was delighted to accept the invitation. In his interactive lecture Building Bridges: Trust and Communication for Effective Teamwork, he shared valuable insights that included both theoretical knowledge and practical approaches.
FOCUS ON TRUST AND COMMUNICATION
In an increasingly globalized and interconnected world, successful exchange and cooperation across cultural boundaries are becoming increasingly important. Trust and communication play a central role, especially in an international context, in order to be able to work effectively and purposefully in multicultural teams. Peter Dietrich addressed precisely this issue and, in his interactive lecture, not only imparted theoretical knowledge but also practical approaches that the students could directly incorporate into their own experiences. Students from various countries – including Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia – actively participated and were involved in a dynamic simulation game that impressively demonstrated how crucial trusting communication is for effective collaboration.
Self-reflection as a driving force for cooperation
Misunderstandings, unspoken expectations, and a lack of reliability are particularly common in diverse teams. These issues often arise from a lack of communication and insufficient awareness of the dynamics that can slow down team processes.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES ARE GENERALLY ENOUGH IN PRACTICE – PROJECTS MOST OFTEN FAIL BECAUSE OF TEAMWORK INABILITY.
Prof. (FH) Dr. Peter Dietrich
Director of Studies, International Business Studies, FH Kufstein Tirol
The workshop therefore not only offered an exciting simulation experience, but also practical solution approaches: Participants reflected on their experiences from the game and jointly developed strategies for promoting an open, trusting, and cooperative team culture - essential skills for operating successfully in international contexts.
EXCHANGE CREATES NEW PERSPECTIVES
In addition to the substantive input, International Week offered participants numerous opportunities to engage in professional and personal exchanges with colleagues from all over Europe. These international encounters not only strengthen the network, but also open up new perspectives—for students and teachers alike.
