Director of Studies Prof. (FH) Dr. Michael Kohlegger teaches the digital skills and knowledge required to be successful in the dynamic world of technology in a practical and personal way.
From the winter semester 2024/2025, the new IT degree program will be open to anyone who is interested in developing and designing digital applications and wants to acquire more than just technical knowledge in software development and design.
Over the course of six semesters, students learn how to plan, design and program digital applications from idea to implementation. They are guided and supported by expert lecturers from the field. The degree program is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to turn their enthusiasm for digital applications into a career. Business fundamentals that enable the successful use of such solutions are also part of the curriculum. Coding & Digital Design is the further development of the previous Web Business & Technology degree program and paves the way for a successful career in the IT industry.
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN
The aim of the course is to design, program and create software applications. Various techniques from the areas of development and design are applied. In the area of development, students are taught how to program web and mobile applications, as well as current topics such as cloud computing, software engineering and front/back-end development using modern programming languages. In the area of design, students learn the basics of design, use current design tools and create their own media content. By combining both subject areas, students gain the necessary knowledge to realize their own app ideas.
DIGITAL BUSINESS MODELS
The development of digital solutions also requires planning how they are to be used later. For this reason, business-related fundamentals are also part of the degree program to enable the successful use of such solutions. Another focus is on promoting entrepreneurial thinking in order to strengthen excellent job opportunities on the market. The qualification in a foreign language, a semester abroad fully integrated into the degree program and an internship in an international company ensure an international orientation.
The degree program is also recognized in the FiT - Women in Technology (AMS) program and thus contributes to the advancement of women.
