- Practical Project

Strong together: participants, athlete Kristina Holzfeind, volunteers, and the organizing team of Mädels bewegen die Welt! (Girls Move the World!) at the Tyrol State Sports Center in Innsbruck.
Action, team spirit, and lots of fun: as part of a practical project, the sporting event Girls Move the World! was organized - in mid-June 2025, girls aged 8 to 14 took over the Tyrol State Sports Center and discovered various sports in a playful way.
In mid-June 2025, the Tyrol State Sports Center in Innsbruck was transformed into a sporting hotspot for girls: at the event Girls Move the World!, participants aged 8 to 14 were able to try out a wide variety of sports, discover new forms of exercise, and make initial contacts with local sports clubs.
The event was organized with great dedication and passion by students as part of a practical project for the full-time master's degree program in Sports, Culture, and Event Management. The project was supported by committed partners such as the Sparkasse Tirol, Verival, Nitro Snowboards, ÖH FH Kufstein, Soda Zitron and Bäckerei Kröll.
The aim of this event, which was held for the first time, was to get young girls interested in sports, strengthen their participation in clubs, and thus contribute to gender equality in sports.
DIVERSE SPORTS, INSPIRING ENCOUNTERS
The participants were able to try out a wide variety of sports such as soccer, cheerleading, fencing, basketball, and many more in workshops. They were accompanied by dedicated coaches from Innsbruck sports clubs, who guided them through the colorful program with expertise and enthusiasm. A special highlight was the visit of nitro freestyle athlete Kristina Holzfeind, who gave personal insights into her sporting career, spoke openly about challenges, and answered the girls' curious questions.
ENCOURAGE, OPEN HORIZONS
The event sent a strong signal for greater visibility and participation of girls in sports. In an open, appreciative atmosphere, participants were able to move freely, try new things, and surpass themselves. The positive feedback from parents and children showed that the mix of diversity, motivation, and personal attention was well received. It was particularly nice to see one girl who was so enthusiastic about cheerleading that she wants to join a club in the future - an example of how a day of exercise can spark lasting enthusiasm.
MASTERING CHALLENGES
The project team mastered numerous challenges with a great deal of commitment and team spirit. The project team gained valuable experience in organizing their event. The timing for acquiring sponsors was particularly challenging, as many companies had already allocated their budgets at this time of year. The project team therefore had to approach numerous companies in order to secure sufficient support. This experience showed them how important early planning and continuous communication are for successfully achieving the goals they set. In addition, they learned to react flexibly to unexpected situations and to work together as a team to find solutions. Setbacks did not discourage them, but motivated them to persevere and find new ways forward. Overall, the experience helped them grow not only organizationally, but also personally.
