- Practical Project

More than 800 visitors came to Kufstein for Perlen Pride and celebrated the community.
Last year, Kufstein town center was once again the scene of the activities of the student practical project Q+You at Kufstein University. The project focused on supporting the local LGBTQIA+ community by organizing events.
Over the past two semesters, a group of seven students from the English-language Master's degree program in Sports, Culture & Event Management at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol have taken on and continued the Q+You practical project. Q+You was first launched by students at the Kufstein University in 2020. The event aimed to support the LGBTQIA+ community in Kufstein, strengthen the sense of community and draw attention to the problems faced by this group.
BRINGING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER
In spring 2023, Q+You members organized three different events for the LGBTQIA+ community in Kufstein and the surrounding area. The series of events began with a karaoke party. It was a great success and filled the BAU! Bar in Kufstein with people showing their support for the community. In addition, the pub quiz was organized, in which many teams competed against each other and asked questions on LGBTQIA+ topics. The third event aimed to bring the community together and discuss the upcoming Perlen Pride.
PEARL PRIDE 2023
On October 7, the town of Kufstein hosted the largest Pearl Pride Parade in its history. Organized by Pride Tirol and with the help of Q+You, over 800 visitors came to celebrate the community. The streets of Kufstein were transformed into a vibrant and inclusive celebration of diversity and love, because the parade was more than just a march. It was a festival with many activities. Inspiring speakers shared the stage to share their insights and opinions on LGBTQIA+ issues in Austria. In addition, the stage was also used by drag queens from various cities around Kufstein. The continued success of Perlen Pride is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Pride Tirol and Q+You.
