- Practical Project

The practical project team together with the volunteers.
Organized by students on the Sport, Culture & Event Management degree program at Kufstein University, the Roundnetcup tournament at the end of May offered exciting matches and a varied supporting program with attractive prizes.
Roundnet is a trend sport that is also known as Spikeball® and is similar to beach volleyball. Two teams of two play against each other. The small ball is played over a round net with a diameter of one meter on the ground to the opposing team. If the ball cannot be returned with a maximum of three touches, a point is scored. Despite the bad weather, a total of 16 teams competed against each other in an exciting tournament in the 3-field sports hall in Kufstein. The students organized the event as part of their practical project and on behalf of the Kufstein Genussmittel association, bringing the new trend sport to Kufstein once again.
THE TOURNAMENT
The teams were able to put their skills to the test on a total of four nets in the group phase before battling it out for a place in the quarter-finals. Each match lasted ten minutes and was accompanied by a sound box. In a heated final, a team from the Roundnet Mühlviertel club finally competed against two students from Kufstein. In an exciting match, the Mühlviertel team took the day's victory to Upper Austria and won a beer pong table from RedCup Shop. The runners-up were delighted to receive a beer pong air mattress. The third prize was a set of beer pong cups, also provided by the RedCup Shop.
VARIED SUPPORTING PROGRAM
In addition to the main tournament, there were also a number of other attractions. In a try-out zone away from the pitch, visitors were able to try out the sport and warm up the teams for the tournament. Attendees also had the opportunity to play a round of Kan Jam (a sports game with throwing discs) or relax on the deckchairs in the chill-out area. Refreshing drinks, cakes and treats were also provided.
HIGH-QUALITY PRIZES IN THE RAFFLE
Another highlight was the raffle with high-quality prizes such as a bungy jump from the Europabrücke bridge including a movie, made possible by Rupert Hirner Bungy Jumping. Free tickets for the Generali Open in Kitzbühel and the beach event in Innsbruck were also among the prizes, sponsored by the respective organizers. Further prizes were provided by Sparkasse Kufstein, Stihl and other companies from Kufstein and the region.
THANKSGIVING
The practical project team would once again like to thank all sponsors and volunteers, without whom the tournament would not have been possible. Special thanks go to the main sponsors ÖH Kufstein, Sparkasse Kufstein and Stihl.
