Students on the part-time bachelor's degree program in Sport, Culture & Event Management during their visit to the Plaza de Toros, the bullring in Seville.

If you haven't seen Seville, you haven't seen a miracle - at least that's what they say in Seville. Students on the part-time bachelor's degree program in Sport, Culture & Event Management had a wonderful time there.

The program put together by the students for their one-week stay was varied and diverse. Also for the Director of Studies Asc. Prof. (FH) Monika Kohlhofer and Angela Scalet, BA also found the visit to Andalusia's capital extremely interesting.

EXPLORE SEVILLE ON TWO WHEELS

The first stop for the Bachelor students passed by an informative bike tour through the city and its green lung, the Parque de Maria Luisa and the fantastic history of Seville. Following in the footsteps of the Austrian and long-time top scorer of FC Sevilla, Toni Polster, the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium with over 40,000 seats offered a look behind the scenes of an internationally successful soccer club.

INSIGHTS INTO THE DIVERSE CULTURE

The Plaza de Toros, built in the 18th century and an integral part of Seville's culture since time immemorial, is the scene of numerous bullfights every year. As one of the oldest bullfighting arenas in Spain, it also houses the Museo Taurino. The bullfighting museum displays impressive artifacts and offers insights into the deeply rooted tradition of this controversial but fascinating cultural asset. At the Casa de la Guitarra, the students immersed themselves in another integral part of Andalusian culture. Pure passion in music, dance and song visibly moved the tour group.

The Metropol Parasol, a fascinating building with a futuristic appearance, stands in contrast to the historic backdrop of the city with its cathedral and Alcaraz. This innovative construction is one of the largest wooden structures in the world and offers a spectacular view over the city

The completely redesigned multimedia spectacle van Gogh - the immersive experience brought students closer to the world-famous works of art and the tragic life of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh (1853 - 1890). “This interactive art experience offers young people in particular a completely new approach to old art. It appeals to an audience that might otherwise be less interested in fine art,” says Angela Scalet.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP

The breathtaking city of Granada is just a stone's throw away from Seville. The jewel of the Alhambra, a World Heritage Site and the pinnacle of Moorish architecture, awaits visitors here. This magical place enchanted the students and Monika Kohlhofer in equal measure. “The Generalife Gardens are a fantastic example of Islamic horticulture and have been turned into a masterpiece of poetry by many a poet and writer, such as Washington Irving,” says the course director, who is deeply impressed.

A study trip with lots of new impressions, great memories and an ideal opportunity to get to know each other better.
