fh4schools: Information offers provide a wide range of insights

“Discover Kufstein University” was the motto on January 25, 2023 for a graduating class from the Zillertal Tourism Schools, which came to visit the University of Applied Sciences with 23 students from the International Travel Industry and Digital Marketing programs, as well as two teachers.

DESIRED PROGRAMME BASED ON THE INTERESTS OF THE PUPILS

As part of the fh4Schools program, the Kufstein University offers individual and interesting opportunities specifically for schools. During the lecture on the topic “Studying at the Kufstein University,” prospective high school graduates were able to gain a comprehensive insight into the degree programs. Afterwards, the school class received first-hand information about their desired degree programs. Prof. (FH) Dr. Alexandra Brunner-Sperdin (Deputy Director of Studies) provided a good overview of the course content and career opportunities in the Marketing & Communication Management degree program. Prof. (FH) DDr. Mario Situm, MBA (Director of Studies) gave a clear and concise overview of the key topics and challenges of the degree program in Business Management. After a tour of the modern premises and the science laboratories of the FH, the program came to a cozy conclusion with coffee and pastries in the in-house cafeteria.

The tourism students found the following particularly interesting: “The brief overview of the degree programs, the openness of the presenting professors and staff to answer our questions. And of course the tour of the labs – because the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences is very keen to provide practical teaching,” was how they summarized the highlights.

Bruno Haller, Professor of Tourism Fundamentals and Marketing at the Zillertal Tourism Schools, can definitely recommend the fh4Schools program: “fh4Schools is particularly in Kufstein, under the motto ‘the FH at your fingertips’. It is one of the few opportunities to experience the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein up close and personal and to feel the “family spirit”. The advantage of the fh4Schools program is that you can put together a program for the respective target group and their priorities with those responsible. Recommended,” the professor sums up his impressions.

FH WORKSHOP ACADEMY FOR THE GRADE SCHOOL

In addition to lectures and tours of the university, the fh4Schools program also offers the opportunity to book exciting workshops from selected departments of the bachelor's degree programs for high school students (minimum age 15 years). Depending on your needs, a customized program consisting of workshops, in combination with a lecture and/or tour of the university, can be put together for a half or full day.

FH ON TOUR: VISIT TO A SCHOOL FAIR IN VIENNA

The Graphische (Höhere Graphische Bundes-Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt, Vienna) is now hosting an in-house trade fair for the second time for around 300 students in the final years of their studies: the educational guidance days. The FH was represented with a lecture providing an overview of the educational opportunities in Kufstein and an exhibition stand to answer specific questions.

“It is a special honor for us to be able to attend school fairs on site. In this particular case, students were asked in advance of the education guidance days which Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences were of interest to them for their future study choices. This is an excellent reason to travel further afield to the school – the interest was very high and the questions varied,” summarizes Lena Streli, who heads school marketing at the Kufstein University and is enthusiastic about the visit to Vienna.
