Esther Ausserhofer has been a member of the Board of Directors of the family-owned company Dr. Schär since 2020. Prior to that, she held various management positions within the company for ten years. During this time, she supported international M&A and integration projects and later assumed responsibility for human resources and organizational development at the group level. She is also a business coach, trainer, and co-founder of the consulting firm HUMAN&HUMAN. In addition, she oversees the Dr. Anton Schär Family Foundation and advises organizations on all matters relating to people in the workplace.

Thomas Baumann has been with the company since 2013. After completing his degree program in International Business & Law at MCI, he started as a project manager. He built up the organizational development department, took over project management, and in 2023, together with Gregor Drühe, served as interim production manager. Since April 2024, he has been the sole CEO Managing Director in Germany and is also responsible for corporate development and supporting processes in Austria. One of his key priorities is the meaningful use of new technologies such as AI—always with a strong focus on people.

Joe Empl joined the family business in 2000 after graduating from a technical college with a degree in mechanical engineering and completing several management training programs. He initially led the marketing department, later took charge of export sales to the Middle East, and in 2015 became CEO and Managing Director for Sales and Marketing. Today, he successfully runs the company as part of the second generation – true to the motto: “If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life.”
Joe Empl is also Vice President of the Tiroler Adler Runde and a member of the District Committee of the Schwaz Chamber of Commerce.

Simon Sohm has been CEO Managing Director of CARINI GmbH since March 2023. Prior to that, he held positions within the company as Head of Field Sales and in Customer Service. His previous professional experience includes roles at the Hilti Group (Business Development), Afilio (HR Project Management), and i5growth Inc (Growth Trainee). He studied Business Management at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol and completed an MBA degree program at Queen Margaret University with a focus on family businesses and small enterprises.

Markus Weishaupt is a business consultant who specializes in family-owned companies. He is an expert in corporate strategy development and implementation, leadership and management, family and corporate governance, succession and transition, and organizational development. He is also a speaker, keynote presenter, and author of numerous articles and books on family businesses. Since 2017, he has been a professor at FH Kufstein Tirol.
