FMplus 2027 invites contributions presenting results from ongoing or completed research projects and dissertations. The focus is on robust preliminary findings, pilot studies, methodological decisions, and new technologies – discussed openly among peers.

There are no thematic tracks: the full spectrum of facility management (FM) and Real Estate (RE) is welcome.

Note: Purely undergraduate student work at the bachelor’s level is not part of this call. Submissions are welcome if they are at the master’s or doctoral level, part of a research project, or submitted in co-authorship with researchers.

What We Are Looking For

• Initial empirical results and preliminary analyses, whether quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods
• Methodological findings on measurement concepts, data strategies, models, instruments, evaluations and calculations
• Replication and robustness checks as well as sensitivity analyses
• Transfer findings from collaborations with practice partners (implementation, scaling)

• Presentation: 20-minute input + 5-minute discussion
• Poster: 3-minute pitch + moderated poster session
  
  

Submission Guidelines

• Abstract: 800–1,200 words (German or English)
• Required information: title, authors and affiliations, preferred format, 3–5 keywords
• Content:
  - Motivation, objective, and context
  - Design/methodology
  - Initial results/pilot findings with brief interpretation
  - Limitations/uncertainties
  - 2–3 specific discussion questions for the session
• Project status: e.g., data collection in progress, preliminary analysis, analysis phase, prototype implementation
• Optional: One figure/table (submitted separately as a one-page PDF) must not be regarded as a substitute for the abstract
• Presentation language: German or English
  
  

Review and Format Assignment

All submissions will receive double peer feedback from experts in research and practice. To strengthen the discussion, the preferred format may be adjusted in consultation with the contributors.

The Chatham House Rule applies at FMplus: Content and insights from discussions may be shared, but without naming or identifying participants or their affiliations. Exceptions will be clearly marked. 

Practice Partners Welcome!
Joint submissions with practice partners are explicitly welcome, as are contributions addressing the implementation, dissemination, and scaling of results.

Accessibility and diversity: The event is designed to be inclusive. Please let us know of any special requirements in good time. Contributions from first authors and teams at early stages of their careers are expressly welcome.

EuroFM Conference and joint social events

The EuroFM Conference will be taking place in Kufstein alongside FMplus 2027. The two programmes complement each other – participants will benefit from broader perspectives, additional sessions and international exchange. FMplus and EuroFM jointly invite you to the social and networking events: A welcome reception to settle in and network, a conference dinner for in-depth discussions in a relaxed atmosphere, and a closing get-together on Saturday at a ski chalet. We look forward to professional dialogue and collegial interaction across both events.
