Career and studies combined: digital marketing students at University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol use their expertise to combine theory and practice and equip themselves for the future in digital marketing.

The students juggle work and study, bring fresh ideas directly into practice and master challenges. Their everyday life is characterised by creativity and strategic thinking. But there is more behind this pace than just good time management - it is the will to actively shape the digital future.

The part-time Master's degree programme in Digital Marketing at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is aimed at professionals who want to deepen their knowledge and keep up with the latest developments in digital marketing. The combination of on-campus and online teaching allows students to organise their studies flexibly, while weekend classes offer an ideal work-life balance. Students from different industries contribute their experience and benefit from the practical exchange. Insights into student life show how participants successfully combine their professional activities with academic further education.

LEARN ON THE WEEKEND, APPLY ON MONDAY

Many opt for the part-time Master's degree programme in Digital Marketing because they already have several years of professional experience in this field and want to better combine theory and practice. The concept of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol accommodates them: Classes are held on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, which is ideal for working people. Professional content can be incorporated into the courses - and what has been learnt can be applied in the office right at the start of the week.

WORK AND LEISURE TIME OFTEN MIX FOR ME - IT'S A QUESTION OF HOW YOU ORGANISE THEM. FOR ME IT'S EASY TO COMBINE THE TWO, THERE ARE HARDLY ANY CLEAR BOUNDARIES.

Magdalena Arnold

Student in the Master program Digital Marketing

Magdalena Arnold is an example of how work-life balance can be achieved. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Marketing & Communication Management at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol while working and then decided to do a Master's degree in Digital Marketing in the same format. She has been working in marketing at a family resort for five years and also looks after customers on social media and websites as a freelance social media manager. "Work and leisure often mix for me - it's a question of organising things. For me, it's easy to combine the two and there are hardly any clear boundaries," she says.

DIVERSE PROFESSIONAL FIELDS AND EXPERIENCE

The students have different professional backgrounds. Viktoria Mitterer is in the second semester of her degree programme and works as a team leader in e-commerce at a mail order company. Among other things, she is responsible for promotional emails and digital sales management. She previously worked in tourism for several years. Viktoria also mentions: "Studying while working is ideal because I'm in the middle of my working life. The best thing about it? Theory and practice go hand in hand, which is exactly what makes studying so much fun." Her colleagues come from banking, recruiting, traditional marketing departments or work in radio, for example.

The exchange between different sectors broadens perspectives and makes the work in group projects particularly varied. This collaboration often leads to professional contacts that extend beyond the degree programme. Especially for those who are self-employed, this results in new co-operations or customer relationships.

EQUIPPED FOR THE FUTURE WITH KNOW-HOW

The professional activities of digital marketing students are wide-ranging and constantly evolving. The digital industry demands that you remain flexible and constantly face new challenges.

Many use the degree programme specifically to broaden their specialist knowledge and expand their skills. In this way, they create important prerequisites for remaining successful in their professional field and actively shaping the rapid changes in marketing.
