Students from the Corporate Transformation Management master's program at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol at HABA FAMILYGROUP in Bad Rodach - a special moment on the RestruTour 2025.

Five days, five cities, five leading companies: On the RestruTour 2025, students on the part-time Master's program in Corporate Transformation Management experienced first-hand how transformation, restructuring and innovation are successfully implemented in practice.

As part of the part-time Master's degree program in Corporate Transformation Management, students from the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol embarked on a five-day study trip with Prof. (FH) Dr Markus Exler at the end of June 2025. Under the title RestruTour 2025, the focus was on an intensive examination of current transformation and restructuring processes - directly on site at leading companies and consulting firms in Munich, Bad Rodach and Stuttgart.

The study trip is an integral part of the innovative Master's program, which provides professionals with sound skills in the areas of transformation, strategy, change management and crisis management. Practical relevance takes centre stage - as the RestruTour 2025 impressively demonstrated.

DAY 1 - MUNICH | STRATEGIC RESTRUCTURING AT EY-PARTHENON

The group kicked off the event at EY-Parthenon in Munich. The exchange with partners and consultants centred on the topic of restructuring consulting as a permanent management task. Using a real-life case study, the students learnt about the wavespace approach, joint responsibility for results with clients and the importance of an integrated advisory approach with industry expertise.

DAY 2 - BAD RODACH | PROGRESS AND CONTINUITY AT THE HABA FAMILYGROUP

The second day was a reunion with a practice partner from the previous academic year: HABA FAMILYGROUP. Together with Managing Director Dr Mario Wilhelm and other contact persons, the implemented recommendations from a previous consulting project were discussed. The focus: brand positioning, product strategy, risk management and early childhood education. The tour of the production facility was particularly impressive, during which the challenges of classic products such as Obstgarten were also discussed.

DAY 3 - STUTTGART | REORGANISATION PROCESSES IN LAW AND BANKING

Three dates were on the programme in Stuttgart:

  • At Görg Rechtsanwälte, the course of insolvency proceedings was explained in detail - from filing for insolvency to the payment of creditors.

  • At LBBW, the students discussed early indicators, reorganisation processes and digital monitoring tools with the restructuring team.

  • A joint dinner with representatives from Hummingbird Converting Solutions rounded off the day - combined with a heartfelt thank you for the past practical project.

DAY 4 - ZUFFENHAUSEN & STUTTGART | TRANSFORMATION IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

Two top-class programme items were on the agenda for the fourth day:

  • At Porsche AG, the students discussed the company's strategic direction in a challenging market environment with CEO Albrecht Reimold and Dr Ulrich Thiem. One highlight was the exclusive tour of Taycan production.
  • At the law firm GRUB BRUGGER, the participants were given an insight into the reorganisation process of VARTA AG, in which the StaRUG was used as a legal tool.

DAY 5 - AFFALTERBACH | INNOVATION UP CLOSE AT MERCEDES-AMG

The culmination of the program was a visit to Mercedes-AMG GmbH. Under the motto One Man, One Engine, the students were guided through the high-performance factory. Particularly impressive: the use of state-of-the-art technologies in combination with traditional craftsmanship as well as the innovative ideas relating to the driving experience and vehicle sound. In addition to technical excellence, the strong corporate culture was also tangibly conveyed.

PRACTICAL, NETWORKED AND FUTURE-ORIENTATED

The part-time Master's degree course in Corporate Transformation Management at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is aimed at specialists and managers who want to actively shape change processes and make organisations future-proof.
