Committed to child protection: The participants of the MutMach-Box at a joint press conference at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol.
Start early, empower children: The MutMach-Box helps educators teach topics such as respect, conflict resolution, and child protection in a practical, everyday context. Due to its success, the project has been extended once again.
30 MutMach-boxes, with a total value of around EUR 20,000, are already in use at kindergartens and childcare centers across the region - and the project continues to grow: Due to high demand, the initiative is now being extended for the third time.
At its core is a practical collection of media and materials designed to prevent violence in everyday kindergarten life: The MutMach-Box helps educators raise children’s awareness of respectful interaction, support their emotional development, and provide them with guidance on how to handle conflicts.
On April 20, 2026, a press conference was held at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, where all stakeholders looked back on the successes achieved so far and presented the next phase of expansion. Ten additional units are currently being funded and will be gradually handed over to additional institutions.
The MutMach Box brings together resources that help children develop emotionally and support educators in implementing child protection measures in a practical way in their daily work.
A STRONG NETWORK FOR ACTIVE CHILD PROTECTION
Since its launch in 2023, initiated by the Soroptimist Club Kufstein in collaboration with partners from the fields of education and industry, as well as students in the Business Administration degree program (now: Leadership & Business Management), a strong network has developed that facilitates its ongoing expansion.
Partners such as Netzwerk Vielfalt, the Endach Kindergarten, and the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences have been part of the initiative from the very beginning. “This practical project from the 2023 bachelor's degree program in Business Management was awarded the 2024 Bank Austria Social Prize for Tyrol. It impressively demonstrates how successfully collaborations between academia and industry are put into practice at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences - from concept to implementation,” emphasizes Prof. (FH) Dr. Kristina Kampfer.
THIS PRACTICAL PROJECT [...] IS A PARTICULARLY GOOD EXAMPLE OF HOW SUCCESSFULLY COLLABORATION BETWEEN THEORY AND PRACTICE IS PUT INTO PRACTICE AT KUFSTEIN UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES - FROM CONCEPT TO IMPLEMENTATION!

HANDOVER TO MUNICIPALITIES AND STRONG SUPPORT FROM THE REGION
During the press conference at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, the MutMach-boxes were presented to the municipalities of Kundl, Kirchbichl, Hinterthiersee, Kössen, Walchsee, Kramsach, Söll, and Erl by, among others, Tatjana Gerst, the project manager, and Diemut Widder, the president of the Soroptimist Club Kufstein.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks this year to our supporters: Oberbichlhof, Amium, Ing. Thomas Huber’s Carpentry Shop, Ursula Weinbaur (private sponsor), and Juliane Atzl (private sponsor), each of whom contributed 50% toward the cost of a kit. The continued distribution of these kits demonstrates just how strong the demand is in kindergartens and how practical the materials are in real-world use.
Educational teams report that the program offers an accessible introduction to the topic of child protection, practical ideas for daily group activities, and a lasting improvement in collaboration with parents.
The Media Box makes it easier to access educational materials on child protection and children's rights. You can watch the video on YouTube - check it out now to learn more.
