High-class duels and a packed Kulturfabrik: the Kufstein Darts Games 2026 brought together amateur and club players for an all-day darts tournament that combined sporting excitement with a communal atmosphere.
On 17 January 2026, the Kulturfabrik Kufstein once again became the venue for the Kufstein Darts Games 2026. The darts tournament was organised by the full-time bachelor's degree programme in Sports, Culture & Event Management at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol and brought together numerous players and visitors. There was already a lot of activity in the morning as the participants prepared for a long and exciting day of competition.
EXCITEMENT ON AND OFF THE DARTBOARDS
As in previous years, two tournaments were held in parallel to accommodate different skill levels. In addition to a competition for hobby and amateur players, there was a separate tournament for club players. This separation ensured fair matches and a balanced game mode.
The tournaments began with group stages, in which the players competed in several matches. This was followed by knockout rounds, in which the best participants qualified for the final matches. The decisive stages were particularly tense, as many matches were only decided in the final legs. Spectators watched the games closely and created a lively tournament atmosphere.
- Amateur tournament winner: Michael Gründler – After exciting group and knockout stages, he prevailed in nerve-wracking legs and was crowned the deserved tournament winner in front of an enthusiastic audience.
- Pro tournament winner: Leonard Lukic – With strong performances in the decisive rounds, he demonstrated the highest level of concentration and secured the title in a thrilling final.
The competition was complemented by a raffle and a flocking station where T-shirts could be printed with the Kufstein Darts Games logo. Both activities provided additional entertainment between matches and lightened the mood of the tournament.
A smooth tournament day with a sustainable concept
To ensure that the tournament day ran smoothly, students from the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol were on hand to assist with tasks such as scoring, organizational procedures, and setting up and dismantling the venue. At the same time, food and drinks were provided throughout the event, with drinks being sold in cooperation with Flötzinger Bräu Rosenheim. In addition, great importance was attached to sustainability at the Kufstein Darts Games 2026: Implemented as a Green Event Tirol Basic, the focus was on waste separation, the use of reusable tableware, and the conscious avoidance of disposable products.
