- Practical Project
The moderators Verena and Markus, in the livestream for EXPOnline 2025, recorded in the Media Lab at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol.
At the end of June 2025, students from the bachelor's and master's degree programs in Sports, Culture, and Event Management at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol presented the results of their practical projects. With creative concepts, exciting insights, video contributions, and a prominent guest, the livestream was a real experience.
Students enrolled in the part-time bachelor's degree program in Sports, Culture & Event Management organized EXPOnline independently as a practical project. At the end of June 2025, the event provided an impressive stage for the presentation of all practical projects from the bachelor's and master's degree programs.
During a one-hour livestream on YouTube, the individual practical project groups not only presented their creative concepts, but also shared their experiences regarding challenges, lessons learned, and personal highlights. Accompanied by exciting video contributions and a prominent guest, the livestream was a complete success. All project videos are also permanently available after the event on the YouTube channel of the FH Kufstein Tirol.
Interactive competition as an add-on
An interactive competition, in which tickets for the legendary Nightrace in Schladming were raffled off, accompanied the livestream. “EXPOnline was a real learning experience for us – in terms of content, organization, and technology. We saw how much planning goes into a digital event and how much creative energy can come out of it,” explains project manager Simon Boccolari.
Of the 25 practical projects carried out in the four study programs this semester, four groups took center stage in the livestream. They answered questions and provided insights into their work – as different as the projects were, they all had one thing in common: relevance!
Auerbräu Pub Crawl
The AuerBräu Pub Crawl is a project that allowed people to take part in an organized tour of several pubs or bars in Kufstein in a relaxed atmosphere. In groups of three, the participants collected points in a pub quiz and other competitions. However, the overarching goal remained to network the participants and strengthen the local gastronomy. The biggest challenge was that the event was brought forward by a week, which naturally led to time pressure. But the team was able to overcome this hurdle as well.
Q+YOU
Next up was an interview with a representative of the Q+You Kufstein project team – a series of events that took place in 2024. Despite difficult internal communication due to the larger group size, the project team was able to present a further developed version this year. With the idea of openness at its core, numerous events were organized to strengthen the LGBTQIA+ community. These included a karaoke night, a pub quiz on the topic of LGBTQIA+, and a waacking dance workshop. The highlight of Q+You Kufstein is the 2nd Color Run as part of Perlen Pride Kufstein on October 11, 2025.
Girls Move the World
As part of the Girls Move the World project, the team organized an event that focused on self-confidence and empowerment. In a single day, numerous young women between the ages of eight and fourteen came together to try out different sports. The team was able to raise the necessary funds for this project through an intensive search for sponsors.
Wings for Life App Run Innsbruck
The last interviewee was the project team behind the Wings for Life App Run Innsbruck. This project was a charity run, with the money raised going towards research into curing spinal cord injuries. This team was also very successful and, despite the enormous effort involved, organized the third-largest Wings for Life App Run in Austria with 400 participants. Food and drinks were also offered at the meeting point in Hofgarten in Innsbruck. The team had also set itself the goal of offering a supporting program with activities such as a raffle and a wheelchair test station.
This project provided a fitting transition to the interview with Lukas Müller, former ski jumper for the Austrian national team and Wings for Life ambassador. Today, he is an active wheelchair athlete and conveyed motivation and resilience in his interview.
