Students of the part-time master's degree program in Corporate Transformation Management are investigating the potential for automating selected process steps at a legal tech software provider as part of a practical project.
As part of a practical project, students of the part-time master's degree program in Corporate Transformation Management are working for the Karlsruhe-based company stp.one – the leading provider of AI-based legal tech software – on issues relating to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in insolvency administration. Under the guidance of practical project coach Prof. (FH) Dr. Markus Exler, the students are examining the process steps involved in automating reporting, supporting or automating subsidy reviews, accounting and financial reporting, and determining claims for avoidance and managing director liability.
“With the support of the master's students, we want to further expand our AI product portfolio for administrative law firms,” says Michael Müller, lawyer and senior product manager, who is accompanying the project on behalf of the company. The results are expected by the end of June 2025 and will be presented to the client in a presentation.
AI SOLUTIONS ALREADY IN USE
The AI solutions for insolvency administration already introduced by stp.one include an AI-supported procedure system. For this purpose, the application and the opening decision are read out and the extracted data is then transferred to the procedure system assistant. This means that only additional data needs to be entered manually. Incoming claims can be read out and the extracted data is then transferred to the corresponding fields in the Winsolvenz software.
LECON Restrukturierung has distinguished itself as the initiator and supporter of the project by gaining insight into the processes on site. “Digitalization and artificial intelligence will decisively transform insolvency administration and restructuring. The aim of our project is to automate repetitive tasks and provide AI-based support for complex decisions. We are convinced that only those insolvency administrators and restructuring consultants who embrace development and actively shape the transformation will survive in the market,” says Thomas Klöckner, lawyer and partner at LECON.
PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER
The part-time master's degree program involves practical courses and projects for and with project partners from business, associations, science, and politics. Over four semesters, students are prepared for the challenges and strategies of corporate transformation. The program combines management skills with digital innovations to prepare graduates for leading positions in business.
