kubinight – sports and gaming at the Kufstein library.

At the end of January, kubiNight 2025 once again attracted Kufstein's young people. For three hours on that evening, the kubi library was transformed into an arena full of gaming, sports and challenges. Interactive tasks, games and great prizes made the event an unforgettable experience.

On Friday, January 31, 2025, the eagerly awaited second edition of the kubinight took place at kubi – Kufstein Library for Science & Leisure. The event was organized by the library together with six students from the part-time bachelor's degree program in Sports, Culture & Event Management. The students were involved in the project as part of a practical project. The varied program, which included a mix of sports and gaming, was a huge hit with young people aged between 12 and 14.

EXCLUSIVE MEETINGS AND ACTION

The event offered an exciting program that actively involved young people and allowed them to discover the library in a playful way. Creative challenges and interactive experiences showed them the possibilities offered by the kubi Kufstein in an entertaining way.

AS A PUBLIC LIBRARY, WE ARE PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN INTRODUCING OUR SPECIAL OFFERS AND FACILITIES TO YOUNG PEOPLE. THE KUBINIGHT AND ITS INTERACTIVE PROGRAMME ARE JUST TWO WAYS IN WHICH WE ACHIEVE THIS.

Helga Dornauer

Library director

Wii games were particularly popular, as they encouraged a lot of movement. A real highlight was the VR experience with the ICAROS, because the participants experienced a breathtaking virtual flight through the mountains. In addition, an interactive scavenger hunt invited the young people to explore the library in a playful way and discover its different areas. Finally, the young people had the opportunity to take part in a competition and win great prizes.

REACHING YOUNG PEOPLE AT THIS AGE IS NO EASY TASK, BUT THE ENTHUSIASM OF THOSE PRESENT SHOWS HOW VALUABLE SUCH EVENTS ARE.

Sofia Kalcher

Leader of the practical project group

A special highlight was the meet and greet with well-known athletes from the region:
Dennis Kaltenbrunner and Patrick Fister from the Kufstein Towers and Werner Harrasser from the Vikings Kufstein Valkyries. They answered the young people's questions and gave valuable tips from their sports careers.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT KUBINIGHT

The second edition of the kubinight also created a modern and lively atmosphere that inspired the young people. The event showed once again how the library can reach young people with innovative formats.
