The Kurzfilm Festival Kufstein returns on October 25, 2025, with its 8th edition under the slogan MOSAIC – Many Stories, One Frame. The festival showcases international short films and promotes cultural dialogue and inclusion at Kultur Quartier Kufstein.

Every mosaic is made up of many individual pieces – just like society. This edition highlights stories that are often overlooked, celebrating diversity, unity, and openness to new perspectives. The festival provides filmmakers from around the world with a platform to share meaningful stories and reach a wide audience, as part of a non-profit initiative encouraging dialogue and artistic expression.

Organized by FH Kufstein Tirol students

The festival is a business project led by master’s students in the Sports, Culture & Event Management program at FH Kufstein Tirol. Since its launch in 2018, it has grown into a recognized part of the region’s cultural landscape, combining practical learning for students with a high-quality cultural experience for the public.

Diverse film program with international contributions

Each film is a unique fragment in a larger mosaic of human experience. The programming team carefully selects a diverse lineup of short films to ensure a rich cinematic experience, celebrating cultural dialogue and artistic expression through a variety of styles.

Awards, screenings, and audience participation

The evening program includes a series of film screenings, followed by the Jury Award and Audience Award ceremonies. A panel of film experts selects the Jury Award winner, while the Audience Award is decided by live voting, encouraging active engagement in the storytelling journey.

In addition, live talks with filmmakers provide insights into the creative process, fostering a deeper connection between creators and viewers. After the awards, guests can enjoy a relaxed gathering with Turkish finger food, drinks, and music – a perfect setting to share impressions and connect with filmmakers and other visitors.

Tickets and participation

The festival is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased in advance on Eventbrite. Everyone is welcome to experience the films, engage in discussions, and celebrate international short cinema.

Support from regional partners

This year’s principal sponsors are Raiffeisen Bezirksbank Kufstein, Kufsteinerland, Auerbräu, and Verival. Their support ensures the festival remains accessible and continues to promote independent filmmaking without commercial constraints.

Charity focus – Proceeds benefit Kufstein hilft

As a non-profit charity event, the festival also supports Kufstein hilft, a local organization providing aid for refugees. Revenue from the festival will go toward financially supporting their humanitarian efforts.
